What are some key takeaways from the 5S Workplace Organization training session?

Through learning about a true 5S workplace system, participants will build a strong cultural foundation and begin to understand how to rapidly enhance product flow while improving quality and reducing total lead time. The 5S framework enhances workstations, limits excess inventory, and helps team members complete tasks and 5S activities. Participants will learn how to use the 5S program and a visual display dashboard to facilitate the actual change and clutter cleanup process in the workspace through the use of Sort, Set, Shine, Standardize and Sustain through safe and effective processes.

What industries benefit from 5S Workplace Organization training sessions?

5S originated in the manufacturing industry at Toyota, but Incito has helped a multitude of industries apply the basic steps of 5S no matter the size or sector of the organization.

How many days is the 5S Workplace Organization training session?

Incito offers 1-day, 3-day, and 5-day 5S training sessions. The duration of the sessions is roughly 8 hours per day with breaks in between.

We can’t commit to 8-hour training sessions because we are so busy. What can we do?

We have worked with many organizations that can’t carve out multiple days of 8-hour training sessions. We are happy to offer 4-hour training days with your team and another 4 hours of Incito’s expert consultants walking the field, analyzing your organization, and strategizing to help better your work processes.

What is the difference between the 1-day, 3-day, and 5-day training sessions?

Incito’s 1-day 5S training is a classroom setting presentation of materials to get the participants to understand the foundation of 5S and why it is important. Our 3-day sessions include one day of training to along with 2 days of actually implementing 5S across an area or two of the workspace. Our popular 5-day training sessions include 1 day of training along with an assessment of the business, a light Value Stream Map analysis, along with the implementation of 5S principles.

What will we do during a 3-day or 5-day training when it comes to actually implement the 5S principles in a workspace?

We will demonstrate and identify how to arrange and document locations for Visual Management System locations. We will straighten up bins, use tape as markers, and scrap outdated processes, which will improve overall mental health. This will extend throughout your business, applying the 5S Methodology to your manufacturing process, assembly lines, suppliers, workstations, shelves, and pathways for a safe work environment.

Do Incito’s 5S training workshops cover more than the basics of workplace organization?

5S is one of the first lean principles that can be applied when starting down the path of continuous improvement. If your primary and immediate goal is to eliminate waste, organize a workspace, and improve productivity, 5S training is a great place to start. During our session, we will touch on how to continue to deploy lean principles across your organization. Who out of my organization should attend a 5S workshop?

Managers, supervisors, team leaders, and employees are responsible for the targeted work area. The optimum number of participants is up to 25 individuals. Incito sees the greatest success when company leaders participate in these sessions, especially if 5S is a company-wide effort. This is fundamental to creating a culture where employees take pride in their 5S activities.
